15 Month Appointment
Stats:
- Weight: 23.5 lbs - she gained from the last appointment, now in the 37th percentile. Her doctor was pleased.
- Height: We have no idea, she wouldn't stand on the scale and stand relatively still at the same time...oh well. We didn't want to start the crying before the shots. She was 30 inches in December, 60th percentile, and she's definitely grown out of a few pairs of pants since then.
- Health: Fine. A few bruises from falling down a bit. Oh, and we don't have to start putting away money for baby dentures, she has a full set of teeth in there somewhere...they're just not done cooking yet, apparently. The doctor didn't get to check much beyond her ear, nose, and throat, though. Maddie had other plans. "Oh, I remember her, she's a willful one!" Yeah, doc, something like that. ;-)
- Developmental Milestones: Doing nicely. And in the midst of an exam-induced tantrum, I tried our usual game of "where's your nose/hair/cheeks/toes/etc.". Thankfully this not only got her happy again, but also impressed the doctor with accuracy and her accompanying squeal of "right there!" with each point. He asked how her verbal skills are doing: Our chatty one has about 25 words that she says regularly (and understands the meaning of) and a few 2-word phrases. Teeth, no. But linguistic skills she's got.
- Shots: That poor doctor... it took 3 adults to give her the MMR, Pneumonia, and Flu shots. Need I say more? They're in family medicine, they're probably used to that kind of thing...right?
